Shanti anyone?

Shanti. A word that befits a man's music. Music that truly knows peace. Wonderful peace. Music that crosses borders, may they be physical, racial or religious. Here is music which truly brings you to peace. To start the day, to calm your jittery nerves, to forget the temper of your boss, or just to end a stressful day, the music of Oliver Shanti lets you just be.

Oliver setup his recording studio in the northern ranges of India, welcomed various musicians to play and record with him. Although mired with a lot of controversy in his personal life, he continued making music in his serene abode. Releasing close to 25 studio, live and compilation albums, the man has experimented with different traditional styles. From Indian folk to traditional Chinese to spiritual Islamic music, Oliver has understood and spoken the words of the world through his sounds.

His music is such that it cannot just be encompassed in two tracks, though I link only those. His is such a diverse set of music that it needs to be truly heard to be truly felt. A walk on the beach, a drive on an empty road or a cup of tea on a rainy balcony, his is the music for real shanti.
